Congratulations to the Wahlquist Eagles! The 2026 District Championship was one for the books! Our Wahlquist Eagles finished their incredible season with a perfect record after a hard-fought battle against the T.H. Bell Minutemen.
The game was a offensive battle early on, with multiple lead changes keeping fans on the edge of their seats throughout the first half. However, the Eagles found their rhythm in the fourth quarter, pulling away to secure a 55-41 victory.
A huge shoutout to the T.H. Bell Minutemen for an outstanding season. After a "nail-biter" win against Orion to qualify for the finals, they played with immense heart until the final buzzer. We are so proud of the sportsmanship and talent displayed by both Weber School District teams!

What a spectacular night at Weber High School! Our community came together to celebrate the Chinese New Year! It was so inspiring to see the progression of our Dual Language Immersion students, featuring incredible performances and cultural activities from the students at Bates Elementary, North Ogden Junior High, and Weber High.
From beautiful traditional dances and songs to hands-on cultural stations in the commons, our students truly brought their language skills to life. We are so proud of these students for their dedication to learning a second language and embracing global cultures!

From First Rehearsal to Standing Ovation in Just 24 Hours! What does dedication look like in Weber School District? It looks like our Honor Orchestra students mastering a complex concert program in just five rehearsals! Even more impressive, these students met their guest conductors for the first time only 24 hours before the final performance on January 30th.
Despite the short timeline, the "best of the best" musicians from our junior highs and high schools rose to the occasion. Guided by the expertise of guest conductors Angela Harman and Brent Smith, they performed pieces like "Impact" and "Blue Rythmico" with stunning precision. This achievement highlights not only the students' talent but the rigorous preparation provided by our dedicated music staff across the district.

The energy at Fremont High School on February 2nd was absolutely UNREAL for our Unified Basketball game! Team Blue and Team White left it all on the court, and having the one and only Utah Jazz Bear there to handle the tip-off took the hype to a whole new level!

The air at Roy High School was filled with magic, laughter, and incredible imagination! We held our annual Weber School District Storytelling Festival, where over 45 talented students took the stage to share stories they’ve worked so hard to refine. From original tales to classic favorites, these young orators captivated an audience of parents and staff members. Karl Behrling shared a story and some great advice to the students. Congratulations to all our participants! Stay tuned to see which of these amazing storytellers will represent Weber School District at the Weber State University Storytelling Festival this March!

Weber School District high schools officially welcomed the incoming freshman class for a tour of the campuses they will be attending. 9th graders from across the district visited Fremont, West Field, Weber, Bonneville, and Roy High Schools to familiarize themselves with campus life. These tours provide a vital opportunity for them to explore elective pathways, meet faculty, and ease the transition into their secondary education.

What an inspiring evening of music and community! Roy High School played host to the Weber School District SATB Honor Choir, bringing together the finest vocalists from Bonneville, Fremont, Roy, Weber, and Westfield High Schools. The concert began with a beautiful showcase of our high school ladies' ensembles, whose performances set a stunning tone for the night. Following those sets, the combined SATB Honor Choir took the stage under the incredible leadership of guest director Dr. Cory Evans from Utah State University. A huge thank you to Dr. Evans for guiding our students through such a powerful repertoire!

West Field High School hosted its annual "Night to Shine" basketball game, featuring students from the Life Skills program. The event served as a powerful display of inclusion and district-wide support. The athletes were coached by the West Field Boys and Girls basketball programs, fostering a unique environment of peer mentorship. The "Longhorn" student section was out in full force, providing a high-energy atmosphere for the players.

Competing against high schools, colleges, and universities across the country, these Warriors proved they are among the best in the nation:
* 2nd Place: Jake Bullock
* 5th Place: Ames Malan
Huge shoutout to their teacher, Mr. Alan Rawlins, for his dedication to teaching real-world, career-ready skills that set our students apart. We are so proud of the academic rigor happening in our classrooms!

Two days. One incredible sound! Our Junior High and High School Honor Band students just wrapped up an intensive 2-day workshop and concert at Weber High School! It’s amazing what happens when you bring the best musicians from across our secondary schools. Under the baton of guest conductors — Dr. Bryant Smith, Associate Professor and Director of Bands at Utah Tech University, and Mikala Mortensen, Director of Bands at Vista Heights Middle School — these students proved that hard work and harmony go hand-in-hand.

When our students see a need in the community, they don't wait for an invitation to help—they take action. While Rocky Mountain Junior High and Mountain View Junior High are often competitors on the court, these two remarkable schools independently joined forces for a month of school spirit and service.
During a halftime presentation at last Friday's basketball game, the schools revealed they had raised a combined total of $21,257.81 for the Ogden Christmas Box House. This organization serves as an emergency shelter for children who have been removed from unsafe homes.

Starting 2026 on a High Note!
We are bursting with pride as we ring in the New Year! This January 1st, three of our very own Weber School District band directors will be marching in the iconic Rose Parade® in Pasadena!
Congratulations to: Taylor Shinney (Orion Junior High) Matthew Kinney (Roy High School) Joseph Windsor (West Field High School)
They were selected to join the "Band Directors Marching Band," a group of over 300 directors from across North America. Under the theme "America’s band directors: We teach music. We teach life," they are representing the dedication it takes to mentor young musicians.
As Joseph Windsor shared, this is a beautiful way to show our students that learning and music continue long after you leave the classroom.

What a match! The energy at Fremont High School was off the charts for the Junior High Girls Volleyball District Championship! It was a battle of the titans (and Grizzlies!) as Rocky Mountain faced off against Orion.
With Orion taking the win during the regular season, the stakes were high. Both teams came out swinging, trading sets early on to tie it up 1-1. It was a total nail-biter, but the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies managed to pull ahead in two incredibly close final sets to claim the title with a 3-1 victory!
A huge shoutout to the Orion Titans for a hard-fought match and an incredible season. And a massive CONGRATULATIONS to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies on the District Championship!
To the coaches, parents, and fans who brought the roar—thank you for making this a season to remember!
