Junior High Baseball Finals! This year's Junior High Baseball Championship was a beautiful display of talent and heart as Rocky Mountain and Wahlquist faced off for the top spot. We couldn't be prouder of these student-athletes!
It was a true battle of the titans. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies entered the game with a flawless 9-0 record, looking to complete a perfect season, while the Wahlquist Eagles soared in with an impressive 8-1 record, ready to challenge for the crown.
After seven innings of grit, teamwork, and high-level sportsmanship, the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies emerged victorious! 🥇🐻
A huge congratulations to the Grizzlies on their undefeated season and for bringing home the trophy! We also want to give a massive shout-out to the Wahlquist Eagles for a phenomenal season and a hard-fought championship game. Both teams represented our district with pride and excellence.

What a spectacular Thursday and Friday at Bonneville High School! Our student-athletes left it all on the track, and the results were nothing short of inspiring. We are bursting with pride for Orion Junior High 9th graders, Megan Pautz and Zaylee Hazelbaker! 🌟
These two dedicated historians have officially punched their tickets to the National History Day finals in Maryland this June! After reaching the state finals as 8th graders last year, Megan and Zaylee were determined to go all the way this time. They spent countless hours researching, building annotated bibliographies, and perfecting their projects—mostly on their own initiative.
Check out the incredible work they put in:
* Megan Pautz combined historical scholarship with artistic precision to create a detailed research exhibit, bringing a pivotal moment in history to life in 3D. 🎨🕵️‍♀️
* Zaylee Hazelbaker took on the role of director and historian, producing a compelling documentary that required expert scriptwriting and video editing. 🎬💻
Join us in wishing Megan and Zaylee the best of luck as they represent Weber School District in Washington, D.C.! ✈️

We are excited to share the results from the "Do the Write Thing" State Recognition Luncheon held on May 1st. It was a historic day for Weber School District!
A massive congratulations to Andre Ramos from Roy Junior High, who has been named Utah’s National Finalist and "Ambassador for Peace." Andre will represent our state in Washington D.C. this July, meeting with members of Congress and having his writing placed in the Library of Congress!
We are also incredibly proud of all the writers who were recognized:
🥈 Malachi Murrah (Roy Junior High) – National Runner-Up
🥈 Adele Noorda (Roy Junior High) – National Runner-Up
🥈 Harper Spencer (Roy Junior High) – State Finalist
🥈 Mayreen Pinto (Sand Ridge Junior High) – State Finalist
🥈 Tristen Penrod (Sand Ridge Junior High) – State Finalist
🥈 Brooklyn Mills (South Ogden Junior High) – State Finalist

There is nothing quite like the pure joy of a first bike! For the third year in a row, our "Gearing Up for Good" initiative has brought miles of smiles to WSD students.
Our talented high schoolers in the CTE Bicycle Repair class—from West Field, Roy, Bonneville, Weber, and Fremont—spent weeks restoring nearly 20 donated bikes. They replaced tires, adjusted brakes, and tuned up every detail to ensure these rides were safe and ready for their new owners.
The best part? Seeing our high schoolers personally deliver the bikes to elementary students across the district. Alongside the bikes, every child received a new helmet, a lock, and a safety lesson to get them started on the right foot!
Thanks to the generous support of the WSD Foundation, every bike was outfitted with new parts, and every child received a brand-new helmet, lock, and a lesson in bike safety.
We are so proud of our CTE students for using their technical skills to give back. It’s a great day to be in education when you see our community coming together like this!

We are still buzzing from the incredible energy at Walker Cinemas in North Ogden for the 13th Annual Weber Fest! It was a true "Academy Awards" style morning, complete with nominees, suspenseful reveals, and a celebration of the massive talent across our six high schools.

Our students proved that they are the next generation of digital storytellers, pushing the boundaries in video production, photography, and graphic design. From jaw-dropping cinematography and emotional documentaries to intricate character designs and professional-grade photography, the level of work submitted was truly professional.

A huge congratulations to all our winners and runners-up! You make our district proud.

Nothing says "school spirit" quite like a Unified Basketball game! 🏀❤️ The camaraderie and excitement were off the charts as Roy High and Canyon View went head-to-head in front of a cheering, full-capacity crowd.

From the thunderous beats of the drumline to the amazing performances by the drill team and cheerleaders, it was a true celebration of inclusion and joy. The athletes truly shined, too—between the lights-out spotlight introductions, the competitive 3-point shootouts, and the dribbling obstacles, it was a night to remember!

Thank you to every student, parent, and community member who came out to support these incredible athletes. This is exactly what the #WeberSchoolDistrict community is all about!

Our Burch Creek Barracudas got a special visit from the @UtahMammoth organization this week! 🏒🦣

Our students traded their sneakers for sticks as the Mammoth brought their Hockey 101 clinic to our PE classes. From learning how to maneuver the ball to practicing that perfect shot, our Barracudas had a blast mastering the fundamentals of street hockey while focusing on teamwork and coordination. 🥅

It was a day of pure inspiration. At Weber School District, we love connecting our students with local icons who show them that mammoth-sized dreams are within reach through hard work and heart.

Good luck to the entire Utah Mammoth team as they keep the momentum going in the playoffs! Our Barracudas are officially part of the herd!

Investing in the Future: Finance Day! What does the future of finance look like? It looks like 224 of our Junior High students taking over the USU campus!
Our students spent the day diving into budgeting, stocks, and investing with experts from the Huntsman School of Business. The highlight? A high-energy Stock Pick Competition where students pitched investment ideas to university professors!

Huge shoutout to our top three teams:
🏆 1st Place: North Ogden Jr High (Nike)
🥈 2nd Place: Roy Jr High (Disney)
🥉 3rd Place: TH Bell Jr High (Amazon)

Beyond the numbers, this day was about opening doors. For many of these students, this was their first time on a college campus, proving that their "next steps" are closer than they think.

A big thank you to our CTE Coordinator Kyle Stanger, our CTE department, and USU for making this incredible experience possible!

Fremont High School was transformed into a world-class concert hall as we welcomed the incredible @UtahSymphony for two breathtaking performances. We were thrilled to host over 1,500 students from across all five of our district cones!

The morning session was tailored for elementary students, focusing on the joy of discovery and the different "voices" of the orchestral instruments. The afternoon session shifted focus to our secondary students, providing our middle and high school musicians with a professional standard to strive for in their own musical pursuits.

A huge thank you to the Utah Symphony for inspiring our future musicians and to our dedicated staff for coordinating such a massive, harmonious event!

It was a historic and inspiring day at Valley Elementary as we were honored to host Governor Spencer Cox, First Lady Abby Cox, and several state legislators for a special stop on their post-legislative "bill signing tour." Our 4th-6th grade student leaders represented the Weber School District beautifully, getting a front-row seat to see how the government works at the state level.

Governor Cox turned the ceremony into an incredible teaching moment. He explained the "long and hard process" of how a bill becomes a law—comparing his role of reviewing and signing bills to the "homework" our students do every day! It was a powerful reminder that leadership involves a lot of listening, learning, and hard work.

While the Governor signed several education bills during his visit, the heart of the discussion was about our children's future and the irreplaceable value of books and reading.

Governor Cox noted that Utah is consistently ranked as a top place to live and work, and he attributed that success directly to the strength of our public education system.

If you’re strolling down Washington Blvd or 25th Street this spring, take a close look at those beautiful hanging baskets—they were made by our very own Roy High Royals!

Roy High’s Floriculture & Greenhouse class teamed up with the experts at Plant and Grow Nursery for an incredible hands-on experience. Our students learned the professional techniques behind designing and building industry-level arrangements, and they didn't just practice—they built all 140 baskets for Ogden City!

We are so proud of these students for contributing to the beauty of our downtown. Great job, Royals!

Monday night’s Junior High Girls Basketball Championship was about more than just the final score. It was about the months of hard work from our student-athletes, the dedication of our coaches, and the unwavering support of the parents and fans who packed the stands at Roy High.

The South Ogden Spartans walked away with the victory after a hard-fought game against a resilient Snowcrest team. Seeing the passion and "heart" on that court reminds us why we love our WSD sports programs.
Thank you to everyone who made this season possible. Congratulations to South Ogden on the win, and to Snowcrest for an amazing run!
