At Bonneville High School, a lot of preperation and planning goes into the day-to-day operations of running a school. To ensure a focus on the right things, intentional thought and action goes into foundational documents.
Leading the cause, of course, is the mission statement: As Lakers, our business is graduating students by educating, inspiring, and providing opportunities for achievement.
To back that up, one other critical document, the School Success Plan, was originally drafted last spring, was meticulously workshopped all summer, and was officially voted in approval at the most recent Weber School District board meeting.
Three main priorities stand out.
First, increasing our graduation rate to 92% or better. To achieve this goal, teachers and staff will better use common assessments that align with ACT-style question, ACT-related rigor, and/or ACT-similiar content. We will also better utilize tech tools, like Shmoop, to prepare students.
Next, we will increase our ACT Composite scores. To achieve this goal, the focuc will be similiar to our action plan for the graduation rate. We will get better at using common assessments and connecting them to the ACT. Additionally, we will use tech tools, like Delta Math, to prepare students.
Our last focus will be implementing a positive behavior process, named PBIS, within the school. This connects to the district's focus in their strategic plan Elevate28. We believe that if our school establishes, teaches, and reinforces positive school-wide expectations, we will establish an environment that is predicatable, effective, and equitable.
