Student Government and Lincoln

Homecoming week is here (Sept 6th-Sept 13th), and this year Student Gov. is excited to incorporate Make-A-Wish Utah! We have been given a wish kid that is from our community and will be our representative for Make-A-Wish Utah (MAWU) during Hocoming activities.

Make A Wish: Lincoln, age 11.

At our kickoff assembly this morning, Lincoln and his mom shared their story of navigating Lincoln's medical journey. Lincoln, age 11, struggles with seizures, coming on and off again in an unpredictable manner since he was barely a year old. Over the years, he has endured "countless tests, scans, medications, and surgeries, including a major brain resection in 2019 and the placement of a responsive neurostimulation device." Despite these best efforts, seizures are something he and his family continue to endure. "Through it all, Lincoln has remained strong, resilient, and full of life. He never lets his condition slow him down."

While we are not raising money for Lincoln specifically, all the money we raise at certain events will go directly to MAWU to provide wishes for sick children. Lincoln's wish is to visit Disneyworld to ride big rollercoasters and meet with The Avengers. "For a boy who has faced so many challenges, this trip is more than a vacation. It's a celebration of courage, healing, and the joy of being together." We are thrilled to be able to add this element to Homecoming. Proceeds from various activities will go towards these great wishes. Students also have a chance to purchase a shining star at lunches, which will then be placed on a wall in the commons, with the money going toward the wishes as well.

Anyone can donate by clicking here as well.
