Heather Schwitzer, the Registrar at Roy High School, has been honored with the district's Extra Mile Award, recognizing her dedication, flexibility, and vital role in the school's success. Colleagues in the counseling office and beyond shared praise for her consistent commitment to students, staff, and parents.
Schwitzer is considered indispensable to the daily operation of Roy High. Hannah Blanch summarized her impact, saying, "really, at the end of the day, Heather makes it so that Roy High can be Roy High and none of us could do our jobs without her ." She further noted, "I don't know how she does it, but she keeps Roy high afloat."
When Schwitzer and her colleague Brenda Hart started their positions, a new program, PowerSchool, had just been rolled out. Brenda Hart recalled that Schwitzer "did not shy away from the challenges that came with a new program and a new job ."
Jilien Jackson highlighted this willingness to help: "Anytime we need anything done, she will stop. What she's doing and she will help whoever's in front of her." Even though stopping her work can cause issues, Jilien Jackson confirmed, "She is never hesitant to do that. She will always do it."
Schwitzer is recognized for her positive and calming presence with the entire Roy High community. Andrea Baily called her "just a ray of sunshine ," and Hannah Blanch recalled that Heather was "the first one to welcome me to Roy High School."
Congratulations to Heather Schwitzer on receiving the Extra Mile Award.
