Kirt Swalberg (Assistant Director of Elementary Education) and Nanette Watson (Principal of Lomond View Elementary) recognized Holly Barker with the Volunteer Award for her service at Lomond View helping students with reading and math.
Juliana Woodbury (Director of Special Education) celebrated the work and service of Kati Jo Christensen (Special Education Teacher West Haven Elementary) who raised over $17,000 in funds to help pay off student lunch debt in multiple schools.
As part of the Administrative Spotlight Ryan Kachold (Principal of Weber High School) shared some of the practices of improvement implemented at Weber High School and showed some of the impacts on culture.
Weber School District announced the retirements of four educational leaders: Mary Jo Williams, Sherry Patton, Kristy Haws, and Jeff Jackson. Following these retirements, several administrative appointments were made. Heather Neilson is the new Director of Elementary Education, succeeding Mary Jo Williams. Alicia Mitchell will become the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, replacing Heather Neilson, and Ben Hokanson is the new Director of Accounting.
In secondary schools, Quinn Talbot is the new Principal of Fremont High, Skylar Kendall is now Principal of Sand Ridge Junior High, and Marc Welch is the Assistant Principal at Sand Ridge Junior High. Nichole Warren Doman is the Principal of North Ogden Junior High, and Chris Archuleta is the Principal of T.H. Bell Junior High. Ashley Blaisdell will be Assistant Principal at Orion Jr., Carolyn DeHoff is the Assistant Principal at Roy Jr., and Tyler Dunyon is an Administrative Intern at T.H. Bell Jr. New secondary administrative interns are Steven Godfrey (Bonneville High), Stacie Palmer (Fremont High), Nelson Nash (Roy Jr.), and Daniel Stuart (Two Rivers High).
In elementary schools, Kim Vorwaller has been appointed Principal of Midland Elementary, and Bradley Spencer and Krystin Amaya are new elementary interns.
