dr. jeff stephensDr. Jeff Stephens began his career in Weber School District in 1984 as an English and Reading teacher at Wahlquist Jr. High School. In 1994 he was appointed as an administrative intern and served in that capacity for one year at Roy High School. Dr. Stephens was named assistant principal at South Ogden Jr. High in 1995 and was appointed as principal at South Jr. in 1998. He served in that capacity until 2000 when he was named as Curriculum and Instruction Director for Weber School District. In 2004, the Weber School District Board of Education appointed Dr. Stephens to the position of Assistant Superintendent where his responsibilities included involvement with curriculum and instruction programs, CTE and the Foundation. In April 2011 Jeff Stephens was named as Superintendent of Weber School District. Dr. Stephens received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Education Degree from Weber State University; his Administrative/Supervisory Endorsement in 1993 and received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University in 1994. He has also received an Advanced Reading Endorsement from the Utah State Office of Education. Dr. Stephens has provided leadership in local, state, and national professional organizations and has been presented with numerous recognitions, honors and awards for his leadership and abilities. Weber School District is pleased to have Dr. Jeff Stephens at the helm of the District.

Jane Ann Kammeyer

janebittonJane Ann Kammeyer has had a passion for teaching and learning for over 30 years! After teaching in elementary classrooms for 14 years in Weber School District, she entered administration. Her leadership experience began as an elementary intern for two years and then principal of Washington Terrace Elementary for three years. Jane Ann was appointed as the district’s Curriculum Supervisor in 2003 where she worked with elementary language arts, gifted and talented education, Title I, and ESL. In 2011, Jane Ann was appointed Director of Curriculum and Instruction. In 2014, the Weber School District Board of Education named Ms. Jane Ann Kammeyer as an Assistant Superintendent. Jane Ann will continue to oversee the district’s curriculum department, as well as supervisory roles with special education and the Weber School District Foundation. Jane Ann graduated from Bonneville High School; received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University; and earned an Administrative/Supervisory Endorsement and Master’s Degree in Special Education from Utah State University. Ms. Bitton has served on numerous educational boards and organizations throughout the state. She is currently President of the Utah ASCD, a state-wide organization that focuses on best practice in teaching, learning and leadership. Weber School District is fortunate to have Ms. Jane Ann Kammeyer as a member of the Superintendency.

Reid Newey

Reid NeweyReid Newey was raised in Roy and educated in Weber School District. He has taught, coached, and served in administrative positions in Weber School District for the past 24 years. He began his education career as a teacher at Clearfield High School where he taught Biology. He then served as Assistant Basketball Coach, for two years, at Utah State University under then Head Coach Kohn Smith. After Utah State he was hired as a Biology/Health Teacher at Weber High School for one year. The next year Reid was hired as the first Basketball Coach at the newly built Fremont High School, where he also taught EMS/Heath and Conditioning. He was later appointed as assistant principal at Weber High School. He then served as principal at North Jr. High School before being appointed the Principal of Fremont High School. After three years as the Principal of Fremont, Newey was appointed the Director of Career and Technical Education for Weber School District. After five years as CTE Director Reid served as the District’s Executive Director of Secondary Education for four years. Currently, he is serving as Assistant Superintendent of Weber School District. Mr. Newey received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Health Education from Utah State University. He received his Master of Education Degree in HPER from USU and his Administrative / Supervisory Endorsement from Utah State University as well. Mr. Newey has been a member of several professional organizations. We are pleased to have Mr. Reid Newey as a member of our educational team in Weber School District.
